Jude "Keep Yourselves In The Love Of God"

Each book in the Bible gently guides God's people into a more intimate relationship with their Creator, as He knows must occur, for His people to receive Him in the depth of the relationship that He purchased for them. Each day we are covering, in sequential order, one of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament and explaining how each of them is revealing God in a more intimate way than has been given to this point in the scriptures.

Today is the twenty-sixth day of the series, “The Progressive Revelation of Jesus Christ” and the book is, Jude, the twenty-sixth book in the New Testament as it appears in our Bible. Jude is a letter written to, “them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:”, and tells them to, “Keep yourselves in the love of God.” This greeting of the letter is making a satatement of what they’ve been transformed into and who they are, what will keep them this way, and the fact that they must stay focused to stayt in that position of existence. This statement, like every other statement, is not only to people from thousands of years ago, it is also for God’s people throughout the ages who’ve came to this point of revelation of the relation that God has purchased and given to all who shall receive.

Jude continues with, “and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude is telling them that it is the faith that is the focus of the warfare that they are in and they should be focused on keeping it; since the faith has been delivered unto the saints. This focus is what keeps God’s people living in Him and grants the peace He is.

“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” The people who are contrary to the faith were officially ordered to be who they are from times past and are living what they have been ordained to be; so don’t be surprised that it is happening, but know that it must exist.

“Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.” God has told His people in previous books of the Bible that there are no powers that He has not set in their place, but people want to speak out about them and constantly complain. God has it all worked out and will take vengeance in His timing; so, His people should concentrate on living peaceably with all men as much as it is within them, but those who are outside of the perfect relation that He has given will speak out against them because they have not arrived yet.

“Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Again, be in peace. God is coming to execute judgement and those who are not in Him.

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” Again, this must occur.

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Again, keep in the proper relation and focus and eternal life is here.

“And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Relationships with various people will take differing approaches, and know how to treat everyone you meet by living the way God leads.

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.” It is God who keeps His people from falling and is able to present His people faultless. Being faultless is contrary to the human mind and is impossible to receive unless the mind is transformed, but God has the power and ability to do what He says and will even transform His people’s minds as He desires into something different than they have imagined possible. .

The examples in this blog are only a limited sample of the deepening relational revelation described through the letter titled “Jude.”

The intent of the blog is to demonstrate the difference in the revelation that God gives to His people as they intently follow Him and focus on what He has told them through their individual lives, and the revelation they’ve received through the Holy Spirit and His Holy Bible.

Tomorrow I will share how “Revelation” brings an even more intimate portrait of the relationship through writing, “in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
